I was approached by the Shuttleworth Foundation in 2007 to come on board as a project manager and run a larger version of the FHSST project. Siyavula emerged with the objective of ensuring that South African teachers have access to a comprehensive set of openly-licenced, sustainable, curriculum-aligned resources.
This relies on the development of communities to create and support the OERs as well as the provision of platforms for development. I believe in the liberation of information and supporting education in South Africa.
